Seogwipean Bakery in Seongsan, Jeju: Complete Guide to Location, Menu, Baking Times and Nearby Routes

Hello from the Seogwipean Project team. We run Seogwipean Bakery in Seongsan, Jeju. This guide puts the questions we hear most in one place: we are in Seongsan-eup on the east coast, open 08:00 to 19:00 every day, about 5 minutes by car from Seopjikoji and 10 minutes from Seongsan Ilchulbong. Below you will find the address and directions, baking times, menu and budget, sample itineraries, and a rainy-day plan for families with children.

The whole building, from the 1st to the 3rd floor, is Seogwipean, and the bakery is on the 2nd floor, straight in from the parking lot. The 1st floor is quieter and suits families with children, the 3rd floor is open and easy to move around with a stroller, and the baby-changing (nursing) room is on the 2nd floor.

Why do several places come up when I search for Seogwipean?

The Seogwipean brand has four locations, each with a different purpose and address. If you want the bakery cafe by the sea in Seongsan, please choose the first row.

The Seongsan shop and the hotel in Bomok-dong are quite far apart, so please do not plan them as the same stop.

What should I show the driver when taking a taxi or using a Korean map app?

Please show the driver the Korean shop name together with the Korean address. This is easier for the driver to read than the English name alone.

The "성산읍 / Seongsan-eup" part of the address tells you that you have the right area. Even if you see Seogwipo-si, please keep reading and check that Seongsan-eup follows it.

How can I check on a map that I picked the right place?

1. Search for Seogwipean Bakery, or copy the Korean name 서귀피안베이커리.
2. Open the place details and check the street "신양로122번길 17" and the area "성산읍".
3. Plan the route again from your accommodation or your previous stop.

Open in Google Maps, or search on NAVER Map.

How do I get in when I arrive? Can I park?

Floors 1 to 3 of the building are all Seogwipean. Park in the private lot in front of the door and walk straight in, and you will be in the bakery on the 2nd floor.

How long does it take from nearby attractions?

These are rough times measured from the shop. If you have not rented a car, please look up bus and walking routes on a map rather than relying on these driving times.

2. Opening hours and baking times

What time can I get breakfast in Seongsan?

We open at 08:00. Sunrise in October is between about 06:30 and 06:50, so most visitors have some time to spare between coming down from the peak and our opening time. Gwangchigi Beach, a well-known sunrise spot facing Seongsan Ilchulbong, is about 4 minutes from us by car.

An early sunrise does not mean the bakery opens earlier that day. Please plan to arrive at 08:00 or later.

What can I eat at 08:00?

Our bread comes out of the oven in stages between 08:00 and 11:30. If you are coming for one particular item, check its time below.

4. Sample itineraries

How should I plan the morning if I want to see the sunrise?

1. Watch the sunrise at Seongsan Ilchulbong or Gwangchigi Beach.
2. Come to Seogwipean Bakery for breakfast after 08:00. Sandwiches and filled salt bread come out of the oven at 08:00.
3. Go to Seopjikoji and walk along the coast.

What if I do not want to get up early?

1. Start the morning at Seongsan Ilchulbong. Whether you climb to the top and how long you stay will depend on your energy and the ticket information on the day.
2. Take a break at our shop before noon. The Plain Croissant comes out after 10:30, and this is when the selection is widest.
3. Walk around Seopjikoji in the afternoon.

Allow 45 to 60 minutes for the cafe stop.

What if I am going to Udo that day?

Come to the shop at 08:00 for breakfast or bread to go, then drive about 10 minutes to Seongsan Port and take the ferry. For ferry times and cancellations, please check the notices at the port on the day.

Which should we visit first, the aquarium or the bakery?

The drive is short, but please allow extra time for parking and for getting children in and out of the car.

How long does Aqua Planet Jeju take?

The aquarium estimates about 2 hours and 20 minutes: 60 minutes for the aquarium, 30 for the special exhibition and 50 for the Ocean Arena. The ticket office closes at 17:00 and last admission is at 17:30. Re-entry is not allowed after you leave, so finish your visit before heading to the bakery.

What if the rain does not stop?

Two more indoor places are within 10 minutes by car: Bunker de Lumières, about 6 minutes away, and the Yumin Art Museum at Seopjikoji. If the rain stops, Seopjikoji itself is 5 minutes from the bakery for a short coastal walk. At the Yumin Art Museum, a same-day Seogwipean Bakery receipt gives 20% off for adults and 23% off for youths and children, for up to 4 people.
